Synopsis
This documentary deals with Hedy Lamarr’s multiple talents. A Hollywood actress and inventor, Lamarr acted in films such as Algiers and Samson and Delilah and was regarded as one of the most beautiful women of her time.
Until very recently, Lamarr's contributions to communications and computer science were virtually overlooked. During World War II, she and her co-inventor, George Antheil, developed a frequency-hopping system that eventually served as the inspiration for contemporary Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology.
The film examines Lamarr's personal and professional life, as well as her battles with sexism and Hollywood's double standards.
